A Farmers Mothers Day

Wildflowers are picked where they grow along the hill side,

Because getting to town is time that is not what one will find.

Dirty boots are checked in at the door but dirty smiles are welcome,

This is how a Mother’s Day goes for the farming mom…

Still up at dawn fixing breakfast & packing lunches to go,

Because things need to get rolling as they have seeds they need to sew.

Once the kitchen is clean the running will start,

Fill the fuel truck, the water truck & that’s just the easy part.

Next the little orphan calf needs his bottle fixed,

While in the silage truck the cows feed is being mixed.

Then out to the field as her man needs a ride,

Because after spraying out a load his truck is on the field’s other side.

She then runs in to put on tonight’s meals roast,

As you can tell a Farmers Mothers Day isn’t like most.

A farmer’s most important season falls on this day,

Along with seeding, calving still goes on as it’s just another day in May.

A Farming Mom couldn’t ask for anything more,

To her it’s not about being spoiled as she knows she is adored.

It’s living this country life that she loves with her kids working hard alongside,

As she looks out at the beautiful life she lives, while waiting for her ride.

The roast is all packed up since supper is being served by tailgate,

As every Farm Mom knows that rain cloud is not going to wait.

Big Hug, Kiss on the Cheek “Thank you” & an “I Love You Ma” is what the kids say,

She just feels blessed to still be together on another Mothers Day.

Love You Ma! Your The Greatest!

Happy Mothers Day To All You Mama’s Out There…

Luv Ya … WRG
